Troubleshooting

What to do when an assistant can't connect, can't find a brand, can't publish or has hit your monthly limit.

When something goes wrong, Atomatize tells your assistant what happened and what to do next, so a good assistant will usually pass that on. This page covers the common cases, with the error code the assistant may mention.

The assistant can't connect

"This app was disconnected" or "This access token is not valid". The connection was removed in Settings or has stopped working. Connect the assistant again the way you first did. In OpenClaw, that's openclaw mcp login atomatize.

"This API key is not valid" or "This API key has expired". The key was revoked or has passed its expiry date. Create a new key in Settings > API & agents and replace the old one wherever it's used.

The Atomatize tools don't show up after connecting. Start a new chat. Some apps only load a connector's tools when a chat begins.

"Too many requests". Each key or connected app can make 60 calls a minute. Wait a minute and try again. After several failed sign-in attempts from one place, Atomatize also pauses requests from there for a short while.

The assistant asks which brand, or can't find one

BRAND_REQUIRED or AMBIGUOUS_BRAND. The connection covers more than one brand, so each request has to name one. Tell the assistant which brand to use.

"Brand not found", or a brand is missing from the list. The connection doesn't cover that brand. Brands you created after connecting aren't added automatically. In Settings > API & agents, find the app or key and choose Change brands.

NO_BRAND_ACCESS. The connection covers no brands at all, so it can't see or change anything. Add one with Change brands.

BRAND_LOCKED. The brand is over your plan's brand limit, so it's read-only. Upgrade under Settings > Plan and billing, or delete a brand you no longer use.

The assistant can't publish

INSUFFICIENT_SCOPE. The connection doesn't have the permission it needs, usually Publish, which is off unless you tick it.

  • For a connected app: disconnect it in Settings > API & agents, connect it again and tick Publish when Atomatize asks.
  • For an API key: create a new key with Publish ticked. A key's permissions can't be changed after it's created.

Or keep publishing to yourself: let the assistant prepare the drafts, then publish them from the web app.

PLAN_REQUIRED. Your plan doesn't include publishing. The draft text can still be copied and posted by hand.

TARGET_UNAVAILABLE or TOKEN_WILL_EXPIRE. The LinkedIn or X account's sign-in has expired, or will expire before the scheduled time. Reconnect it in Brand settings > Publishing.

SCHEDULE_TOO_SOON. A scheduled post needs to be at least 5 minutes in the future.

Generating drafts

LIMIT_EXCEEDED. You've used this month's sources. Rewrites and other versions don't count, so you can keep refining existing drafts. For more, upgrade on the pricing page.

TRIAL_EXPIRED or SUBSCRIPTION_INACTIVE. Your trial has ended, or a payment didn't go through. Choose a plan, or update your card, under Settings > Plan and billing.

TOO_MANY_GENERATIONS. Each brand writes up to 3 sources at once. Wait for one to finish, then start the next.

Drafts are taking a long time. Writing usually takes one to two minutes. If a source shows as failed or stuck, ask the assistant to retry it, or open the source in the web app and choose Retry generation.

NO_CHANGE. You asked for a rewrite that would need something the source doesn't say, so the draft was left as it was. Ask for a different change, or edit the text yourself.

PDFs. Assistants can send text, article links and YouTube links. Upload a PDF in the web app instead.

Still stuck?
